Davy Jones, é um personagem dos filmes Piratas do Caribe e também de lendas oceânicas. Faz sua primeira aparição como antagonista em O Baú da Morte, representado pelo ator Bill Nighy usando uma tecnologia de captura de movimento. Na trilogia, Jones é o capitão do navio fantasma oceânico Holandês Voador e ronda os mares em busca de almas para prestar um serviço de 100 anos.
A lenda descrita no filme diz que Davy Jones era na verdade apenas um marinheiro, que, apaixonado pela deusa Calypso, aceitou sua proposta de imortalidade, arrancando seu coração e o colocando em um baú, que enterrou em uma ilha longínqua e desabitada (Ilha Cruzes), para que nunca fosse encontrado e, desde então, ele vagaria pelo mar coletando almas perdidas e as levando ao Além. Davy Jones, porém, foi traído por Calypso, tornando-se amargurado, despejando seu ódio pelos mares, matando e tentando marinheiros a se juntarem a sua tripulação. Não tratou de levar as almas para o outro mundo, sendo assim, modificou-lhe a aparência, transformando-o no demônio que é. The legend described in the film says that Davy Jones was in fact only a seaman, who love the goddess Calypso, accepted his proposal of immortality, tearing his heart and putting in a baú, which buried in a remote and uninhabited island (Island Crosses) So that was never found and since then he vagaria March by collecting lost souls and leading to the addition. Davy Jones, however, was betrayed by Calypso, becoming amargurado, dispensing his hatred for the seas, killing and trying to sailors to join its crew.
